As a member of the Panhellenic community at the University of Tennessee, you are part of a council that is dedicated to academic excellence. In the fall semester of 2023, the Panhellenic Council achieved an impressive average GPA of 3.51, which is higher than the all-female student average at UTK. This achievement highlights the dedication and commitment of our members to their academic pursuits. We are extremely proud of our members' remarkable accomplishments, knowing that their success not only benefits our community but also contributes to the broader academic scope of our university. Much of the credit for our collective success goes to the hard work of each chapter's academic chair, who provides invaluable guidance and support to ensure that every woman excels in her academic pursuits.

The Panhellenic Council is dedicated to honoring the core value of scholarship that exists in each of our member organizations. During February, we join the National Panhellenic Conference to celebrate the Month of the Scholar, which exists to celebrate the academic excellence and achievement of all of the outstanding women that make up our community. To further show our support for academics, we highlight one Panhellenic Scholar of the Month, who is a woman selected from her chapter for going above and beyond in the classroom. Additionally, the Panhellenic Scholarship Program provides 13 $500 scholarships annually to our members to continue to support them during their time in Knoxville. As a community, we recognize that Panhellenic women are students first, and we commit ourselves to supporting each of our members in fulfilling their academic and professional potential.

2023 Panhellenic Scholarship Winners

  • Authentically Panhellenic scholarship: Ellie day

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman who displays the core values of the National Panhellenic Council and is a member that goes above and beyond within the Panhellenic and campus community. Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA. This is awarded to any panhellenic woman that is in good standing with her chapter and the university.

  • Influential panhellenic woman scholarship: abigail cain

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman in our community that has excelled in advocating for diverse members in the Panhellenic community and on campus. This woman is one who has worked to instill change amongst the Panhellenic community in the realm of bringing more awareness to Panhellenic members regarding other Greek councils and/or minority groups on campus. This individual does not have to personally come from a diverse background, but must be a voice and leader for diversity on UT’s campus. Must have above a 3.0 GPA to apply.

  • continuing education scholarship: emma bolanowski

    This scholarship is awarded to a senior Panhellenic woman who has shown excellent involvement and membership within her membership as a Panhellenic woman. This woman can be either a four-year member of her chapter, a three-year (participated in recruitment as a rising sophomore) member or a transferred member. This scholarship is awarded to a woman who has exemplified the values of commitment to scholarship, devotion to sisterhood and relationship, engagement in leadership, and heart for her chapter and its ideals.

  • authentically panhellenic scholarship: nikki higgins

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman who is in the process of applying for graduate school in her field. This may be applied towards the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT), Law School Admission Test (LSAT). Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

  • outstanding new member scholarship: sophia aiello

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman who displays kindness and support within the leadership community on the University of Tennessee’s campus. This member is a leading member within her chapter (executive board or director position) and models the way for others around her. Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

  • continuing education scholarship: kylie schoen

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman who is pursuing a major or career path that is historically predominantly occupied by men. Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

  • continuing education scholarship: christa Opdahl

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman who displays strong academic skills and a passion for scholarship. The recipient must use the scholarship to help fund a study abroad educational or unpaid internship experience. Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

  • influential panhellenic woman scholarship: leah davis

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman who displays strong academic skills and a passion for continuing onto graduate school. The recipient must use the scholarship to help fund application fees and interview costs associated with applying to any Master’s or Doctoral Programs. Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

    This scholarship is awarded to a Panhellenic woman who has joined her chapter within the last calendar year and presents a need for financial support. Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
